CSE participated in panel discussion event “CSR Reporting & Best Practices” in Istanbul

The Centre for Sustainability & Excellence (CSE) participated in a panel discussion event, organized by the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey, on the topic of “CSR Reporting & Best Practices” (9 May 2008). Mr. Nikos Avlonas, Managing Director, CSE, discussed on the issues pertaining to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the importance of social and environmental reporting. Fellow panel members included Dr. Madhav Mehra, President, World Council for Corporate Governance, and Mr. Antonio Fuertes Zurita, CSR Manager, Union Fenosa. The event attracted a diverse audience, spreading across different sectors.

In the context of further promoting CSR in Turkey, the CSE, in collaboration with the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey, will be realizing a CSR training workshop, titled “How to…Get Started with CSR from Strategy to Reporting” in Istanbul, on 30th of May 2008. It will be the first of a series of workshops scheduled to be implemented in Turkey, as per increasing interest on the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability by organisations, both public and private, in the Turkish market.
